President's Corner

Hello fellow Project Managers of Central Pennsylvania!

By now, you should have received an announcement regarding the organizational transition of the PMI Keystone Chapter board, following the recent elections.  I am excited to be the new President of the Chapter, and I look forward to the good work that we will do together over the next couple of years.

The PMI Keystone Chapter Board started out 2017 by gathering for a Strategic Planning Meeting.  We discussed how to plan our activities for the upcoming year so that they align with our vision statement and return the most value to our members.

In case you missed it, our Vision Statement can be found on the “Who We Are” page of the www.pmi-keystone.org website:  To promote proficiency in leadership and project management that benefits our members, the profession, and the community.  For 2017, we decided to focus on 3 key initiatives, to align one each with our envisioned benefits to our members, the profession, and the community.

In the domain of membership, we will work to increase PMI Keystone Chapter membership engagement from 10% to 20% through better and more targeted communications and programs, virtual access in addition to in-person event attendance, and interest surveys.  Membership engagement is defined as attendance or volunteering at any Chapter sponsored or promoted event or program.

In the domain of profession, we will strive to conduct two extraordinary Professional Development Days that include best-in-class speakers, relevant and trending topics, better networking opportunities, better marketing campaigns, and attendance that is 20% greater than 2016.

In the domain of community, we will partner with a charitable non-profit agency to improve their processes using principles from the PMI Body of Knowledge.  The intent is for volunteers from the chapter to spend few hours understanding the needs of the non-profit organization, including areas for improvement, and then to facilitate process improvement.

The PMI Keystone Board of Directors plans to post metrics on the www.pmi-keystone.org website, to track our progress.  We would love to have your assistance to ensure our success, and we welcome your feedback along the way!

Yours in Project Management,

Mark A Raschke, PMP

President of the PMI Keystone Chapter
