How a Lean Six Sigma Mindset can Help Project Management
The PMI Keystone Chapter wants to connect with PMI members, Project Managers and the project management professional community to drive the field of project management forward in the Lehigh Valey area.
We hope you will join us at our regular monthly meetings to learn how you can expand your network and collaborate with us to create and share consumable content, tools and resources.
The feature presentation will be as follows:
TOPIC: How a Lean Six Sigma Mindset can Help Project Management
We’ll explore basic concepts of Lean Six Sigma and how this mindset can help Project Managers manage projects more efficiently.Additionally, this mindset can be applied not only to Project Managers but to Project Management Offices and Project Governance teams which provide oversight on projects by improving the governance process to remove waste and adopt a culture that questions current processes and identify problems not to place blame but to find sustainable solutions.
SPEAKER: Jim Rommens, PMP, MS, MA, CSM, IT Project Manager
Speaker Profile :
With many years’ experience in project management, Jim is an IT Project Manager at Olympus Corporation of the Americas in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. Jim is currently supporting the Lean Six Sigma initiative at Olympus and is working on obtaining his Green Belt while heavily engaged in training White Belts at Olympus to be advocates of this initiative. When not working at Olympus, Jim enjoys teaching project management, quality management, leadership, and computer science courses, ranging from the graduate level to the associate level, at universities in the Lehigh Valley, including DeSales University, Lehigh University, Bloomsburg University, and Lehigh Carbon Community College.
TIME: Networking and snacks begins at 6:00 PM followed by the Featured Speaker starting promptly at 6:30 PM.

PROTOCOL: Dress code is business or business casual.
COST: There is no charge for this meeting to Chapter members. A nominal fee of $5 will be charged to non-Chapter registrants and attendees. Chapter members must log-in to the Chapter website in order to receive the discount.
