Kathleen is going to take us through an exploration of the various stages of risk identification and mitigation strategizing in a waterfall environment. She will be pulling on her personal experience in managing multiple projects in a fast-paced, on-demand environment as well as the PMBOK base to provide techniques and strategies on looking in to the future of your projects and moving toward success. Additionally, she will touch on the complexity in identifying personal risks to project development and how to manage people successfully.
Kathleen McGeer has been employed at Navient for 16 years, transitioning in to Project Management work in 2009 first as a Business Analyst and then as a Project Manager in 2011. She obtained her PMP in September 2015. Throughout her tenure with Navient, Kathleen has held numerous roles in both the business and IT divisions. Currently, Kathleen is a Project Manager for the Loan Conversion/ Loan Servicing departments. Her responsibilities include scheduling projects, identifying/assigning resources and monitoring project risks and schedules. In addition, Kathleen works for Navient on the Department of Education contract; managing compliance with federal regulations and guidelines.
In addition to her professional responsibilities she is a wife and mother of 3 children under the age of 5. In her free time she enjoys working out to relieve stress!
