Topic: The Importance of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in Project Management

Description: In the Project Management industry, diversity is crucial for fostering innovation, creativity, and a variety of perspectives that drive better solutions and outcomes. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives provide opportunities for fair representation and diverse voices, leading to more effective and well-rounded project teams. Embracing DEI offers the opportunity to tap into a wider talent pool, stimulating fresh ideas, and promoting a culture of respect and understanding.
The program will cover the following topics:
Empowering Aspiring Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) Credential Holders – Creating a Project Experience Template, providing financial assistance, and offering exam prep sessions, as well as creating a structured approach to identify and track 23 hours of project experience can enhance the development of aspiring CAPMs. The program could include conducting a 3-day in-person boot camp to provide intensive
training and to motivate aspiring CAPMs.
Developing the Pipeline for Future CAPMs – Working with Not-for-Profit agencies such as the Crispus Attucks Community Center and the Susquehanna National Heritage Area (SNHA) to gain project work experience.
Mentorship – Open discussion on how PMI Keystone, York Community members can get involved.
