Susquehanna Branch February 2019 Meeting
The PMI Keystone Chapter wants to connect with PMI members, project managers and the project management professional community to drive the field of project management forward in the Harrisburg area.
We hope you will join us at our regular monthly meetings to learn how you can expand your network and collaborate with us to create and share consumable content, tools and resources.
The feature presentation will be as follows:
TOPIC: "Project Management: A Level of Honesty”
This get together will facilitate discussion on how Project Leadership’s strategic guidance improves Organizational performance. Today’s Project Leaders must be masters at diagnosing flaws and developing new approaches. Participants will learn how Project Management is being retooled for embracing, converging, and transitioning cultures to deliver better business outcomes. Practical experiences will be shared and conceptual approaches will be taught.
SPEAKER: Mary D. Johnston, PMP, ITIL v3 Services Foundation, Project Management Office Director for the Applied Research Laboratory, Penn State University, University Park
Mary Johnston is a Project Management Office (PMO) Director for the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) of Penn State University, in which she oversees a team that delivers multi-million dollar infrastructure, application development, compliance, and business process re-engineering Projects. She also is responsible for delivering best practices and consistent Project Management methodologies and frameworks within her Organization in an effort to streamline efficiencies and deliver the best possible Information Technology services.
Formerly, Mary was an Enterprise Project Manager for the Office of Administration in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with a focus on Emergency Management efforts, implementing Enterprise Project Management framework and performance monitoring for the Top 25 Commonwealth-wide initiatives totaling $450 million. She was also the Assistant Deputy with Pennsylvania Homeland Security and the former Homeland Security Project Manager for the Office of Administration. She has over 15 years of experience in organizational governance coupled with 20+ years of experience in Information Technology. She has her BA in Psychology from Shippensburg University, is a Project Management Professional (PMP); and ITIL v3 Services Foundation certified. In her spare time, Mary teaches a Masters-level Leadership class at Harrisburg University and supports the South Central Task Force's IT planning efforts.

COST: There is no charge for this event for Keystone Chapter members. A small fee of $5 is charged to all non-Keystone Chapter members and guests. If you know of an organization or individual who would benefit from this session, please extend the invitation to them.
PDUs: Attendees can self-report up to one (1) Strategy & Business Management professional development unit (PDU). PDUs for monthly meetings are not updated automatically for attendees.
