TOPIC: Program Management – Delivering value and leading transformational change

PRESENTATION SUMMARY:

Many discussions have been seen lately on social media platforms regarding the quantification of the value contribution of projects, as well as improving engagement in project sponsorship, benefits realization, and transformational change management.   How often have we seen a project scope completed on time and on budget, only to see the end-user organization struggle for years to realize the benefits?  The missing link that defines, manages, and controls these attributes is program management. Interestingly, many projects that win PMI’s Project of the Year accolades are those that have leveraged program management governance themes related to capability development through project management and transformational change best practices aligned with benefits realization.  This presentation also introduces good practice governance of programs from global sources such as the UK Cabinet Office/AXELOS Managing Successful Programmes, ISO, government standards, as well as PMI, and supports the PMI PgMP certification.
