PMI Keystone Chapter - Virtual Monthly Event - April 2021 - Susquehanna Managed

Ways of Working

TOPIC:

Change Management

PRESENTATION SUMMARY:

Have you ever been assigned a project in which organizational change is the objective?  This change could be a new Enterprise Resource Planning (EPR) system, a new corporate-wide software program implementation, outsourcing a department, or organizational layoffs.  How do you do such a project?  What tools are available to assist the project manager?  This presentation is designed to provide you with tools to help you be successful in such a project.  It will look at various techniques a project manager could use, as well as techniques to overcome organizational resistance to the change.

PRESENTER:

Dr. John J. Byrne, PMP is an author, consultant, and an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.  He began his career with the US Navy serving as a Nuclear Reactor Operator on submarines based in Scotland and the Caribbean. These travels gave John unique experiences, which he brings to life in his presentations and classes.  This unique look is a blend of theory, application, and humor.  John has also supported the Keystone Chapter in the past as a PMP Instructor.  He devotes much of his time to project management and the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation's (PMIEF) K-12 Educational Programs. He has spoken at the Project Management Global Congress a number of times and is an outspoken advocate of project management.  His book "Polaris: Lessons in Risk Management" reflects his dedication to the field of Project Management.
